Stock and listings that drift out of date on Fruugo
Your Shopify stock changes all day. If Fruugo is working from an old copy, it sells stock you no longer have, or keeps listing products you took down weeks ago.
The short answer. Relay Sentry rebuilds your Fruugo feed within minutes of a stock, price or product change, holds back a safety buffer you choose, and marks a deleted, archived or drafted product unavailable on Fruugo instead of leaving it on sale. Products published directly through Fruugo's Product API get stock updates pushed as they happen and are checked against Fruugo every few minutes.
01The problem
Many Fruugo connectors send a snapshot of your catalogue. Between snapshots, Fruugo keeps selling from the old stock figures, so a product that sold out in your shop can still take orders on Fruugo.
Removing a product is worse. Fruugo has no delete: a product that simply stops appearing in your feed stays listed with its last known stock. Unless something tells Fruugo it's unavailable, it can carry on selling for weeks.
02What it costs you
- An order you can't fulfil has to be cancelled, which refunds the customer and counts against you with Fruugo.
- A discontinued product that's still for sale brings orders you have to turn down.
- It's hard to tell when Fruugo last received your stock, so you can't tell whether a problem is already fixed.

Your feed is rebuilt within minutes of a product, price or stock change in Shopify. Fruugo collects it on its own schedule, so the fresh copy is waiting whenever it does.
A safety buffer you control
Hold back a few units of every product so the last ones sold in your shop can't also be sold on Fruugo, and cap the quantity Fruugo sees if you want to.
Removed products are taken off sale
Delete, archive or draft a product in Shopify and Relay Sentry tells Fruugo it's unavailable, which is how Fruugo removes a listing. If the product comes back, so does the listing.
Direct listings updated as stock changes
For products published through Fruugo's Product API, a stock change in Shopify is pushed to Fruugo within minutes, and Relay Sentry compares Fruugo's stock, price and listing status with yours every few minutes and corrects any difference.
You can see when it last synced
Settings shows when orders, your catalogue and your stock last reached Fruugo, with a «Sync now» button for each.
04Where you'll find it in the app
- Set your safety stock and maximum quantity on Catalog → Feed policy.
- Keep working in Shopify as usual. Stock, price and product changes reach your feed on their own.
- Check Last synced on Settings to see when each area last reached Fruugo, and click Sync now if you want it sooner.
